For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, PingAlert is the controller of your personal information unless stated otherwise in a data processing agreement.

  • Monitoring data: endpoint URLs, probe results, metrics, incident notes.
  • Usage data: device and log information, IP address, pages viewed, referring URLs.

  • Identity provider data: when you use Google Sign-In, we receive your Google account email and basic profile information needed to create or authenticate your account. We do not request or store your Google password.

3.1 Sources

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device and use of the Service, and from third parties such as identity providers, analytics, payment processors, or your chosen integrations.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and improve the Service, authenticate users (including via Google Sign-In), process payments, send service communications, provide support, detect abuse, comply with legal obligations, and for anonymized analytics.

Where required, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., securing and improving the Service), consent (where applicable), and compliance with legal obligations.

6. Sharing & Disclosures

We share information with vendors and service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., hosting, support, email, payments). We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our agreements, or protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.

6.1 Subprocessors

We use subprocessors to deliver the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery). We take steps to contractually require appropriate safeguards. A current list is available upon request and may change over time.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. Retention periods vary by data type and context. For example: account records for the life of the account plus a limited period, billing records per tax/regulatory requirements, logs for a limited rolling window unless needed for security or legal reasons.

8. Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. International Transfers

We may transfer information to countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data; object to or restrict processing; and withdraw consent. To exercise rights, contact privacy@pingalert.io. You may also have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

EEA/UK: You may contact your local data protection authority. California: You may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, and correct, and to opt out of certain processing such as “sharing” for cross‑context behavioral advertising (which we do not perform).

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by appropriate means. Your continued use of the Service signifies acceptance of the updated Policy.

14. Processing Roles & DPA

When we process monitoring data on your behalf, we act as a processor under applicable laws. A data processing agreement (DPA) is available upon request. You are responsible for providing any required notices and obtaining consents from end users for data you direct us to process.
